PROGRAM AND impact EVALUATION

Owen Consulting has helped dozens of clients advance and measure the positive impact of their organizations, partnerships, programs, and services. In all of our partnerships, OCI’s approach to research, analysis, and evaluation centers the expertise of those closest to the complex and growing problems they are tackling. We specialize in inclusive, collaborative, participatory, mixed-methods approaches that combine quantitative and qualitative analysis and are grounded in our principles of justice, equity, diversity and inclusion.

Collectively, the OCI team has decades of experience and expertise leading multi-stakeholder social impact evaluation projects across the US and globally.  We employ a co-creative, utilization-focused approach to research and evaluation. We have experience working directly with community-based organizations in challenging contexts and adapt our evaluation frameworks to accommodate local priorities.  Our approach can accommodate organizations and programs of any size and scope and with different capacities for internal evaluation.

We can provide evaluation support to:

  • Carry out independent, external impact evaluation for programs and organizations of all sizes, including to asses initial, medium, and long-term impact

  • Build your organization's capacity to self-evaluate and support internal evaluations and services

  • Strengthen current evaluation systems, tools, and approaches for your organization

  • Conduct institutional evaluations and facilitate strategic planning with aligned theories of change, results frameworks and evaluation plans

  • Carry out community needs assessments to help your organization design interventions

  • Provide capacity strengthening support to grantee partners on their evaluation needs

  • Conduct grantmaking portfolio analyses to assess program and individual grant level impact

  • Conduct quantitative analysis including advanced statistical evaluation to help clients test and develop customized survey / research instruments for validity and reliability, and apply techniques that can determine whether programs or initiatives are impacting target outcomes. Our robust approaches are able to provide evidence for causal relationships in a fraction of the time and cost required for randomized control trial studies

  • Utilize participatory qualitative methodologies that increase the participation of program participants and project stakeholders. We use cutting-edge qualitative analysis software to identify recurring themes and target outcomes to help inform additional areas for quantitative data collection
