Bloomberg Philanthropies, Government Innovation. Owen Consulting has / is conducting process and impact evaluations of three of Bloomberg Philanthropies Government Innovation multi-year initiatives; Global Mayors Challenge, City Data Alliance, and the Local Infrastructure Hub.

Zone 126. Owen Consulting has helped Zone 126 design and implement a comprehensive, mixed-method process and outcome evaluation to measure the Collective Impact of multiple community-based organizations’ programming and services at partnering schools. Our team supports Zone 126 in coordinating evaluation efforts by partner agencies and schools to monitor and track youth participants’ progress in School Readiness, Social-Emotional Learning / Youth Development, and Academic achievement through a “Cradle to Career” pipeline / continuum of care. Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) NYC Metro. Owen Consulting conducted a robust statistical evaluation for the New York Office of the Network For Teaching Entrepreneurship (NFTE) designed to examine academic outcomes for students enrolled in its high school programs. The study relied on an advanced Propensity Score Matching technique to control for possible pre-existing differences between NFTE and non-NFTE students. The four outcome variables upon which comparisons were made were scores on the Math Regents exam, scores on the English Regents exam, days absent and credit accumulation (believed to be a proxy for progress towards graduation).  Overall, the study’s findings suggested that participation in well‐implemented NFTE programming contributed to positive academic outcomes. Students in the NFTE Program scored higher on the Math Regents, had better attendance, and accumulated credits at a slightly higher rate than non-NFTE students in the control group.  Read our Evaluation Report.                           

Goldman Sachs & Co. MCA Mentoring Program.  Owen Consulting designed, implemented, and evaluated the company's corporate-youth workplace mentoring program in accordance with NYCDOE requirements and evidence-based best mentoring practices for over ten years. Our team led mentor recruitment, training, and ongoing supervision of more than 40 mentoring pairs annually, strengthening the overall program and school partnership. We provided comprehensive program and outcome evaluation to monitor implementation and measure impact. The program regularly achieved high rates of match retention, participant satisfaction, and target youth development and mentoring outcomes.

YMCA of Greater New York. Owen Consulting provided comprehensive evaluations for four of the YMCA's flagship programs: Y Roads, Y Scholars, Y Schools, and Teens Take the City, as well as multiple 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21CCLC)  after school programs at sites across four boroughs in New York City. Our comprehensive evaluation services enabled the Y to monitor progress, track implementation, and measure program impact across academic, youth development, and social-emotional outcomes while fulfilling NYSED and funder-mandated requirements.

Boys and Girls Club of America Owen Consulting was selected via a National RFP process to update and redesign the Club’s “SMART Moves,” a healthy lifestyle curriculum for children and youth widely implemented at Boys and Girls Clubs across the country. Our team designed the curriculum in accordance with evidence-based best practices and developed evaluation tools to test the program’s efficacy and impact. Currently more than 225,000 youth across 2,400 Clubs nationally participate in the curriculum each year.
